The Journey Begins:
Recovering from back to back operations (complete reversed shoulder replacement followed by an aortic valve replacement) kept me immobilized for over 8 months.
I took to the brush as a type of therapy…returning to my love of sea and sky. I graduated from URI with a Bachelor’s in Art and Art History (1967) and a Masters in Expressive Arts Therapy from Salve Regina University in 1995.
As I collected more and more canvasses, I decided to take leap and entered a show at The Portsmouth Arts Guild followed by a show at The Edward King House Center. I sold two pieces! and decided to share the bounty..returning a percentage to SAVE THE BAY to honor the inspiration of Sea and Sky, and given that drastic cutbacks to environmental causes was being pulled away. Since my first sale in April, $275 has been donate to Save the Bay.
PRESENTLY MY WORK IS AVAILABLE FOR SALE AT The Portsmouth Arts Guild (www.portsmouthartsguild.org)/ gallery), THE PURPLE DOOR GIFT SHOP in Jamestown, Sachuest’s Point Gift Shop at the Visitor’s Center in Middletown, and a piece has been offered for bidding for THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB Fundraiser as part of the International Boat Show. I am presently trying to get more exposure at other venues. I also do commissions. Give me a photograph or tell me what you would like to immortalize and I’ll custom paint it.
